As a photographer, I love capturing people—whether it’s families, couples, seniors—you name it. But I also really enjoy photographing the world around me. Nature, places, moments that make you stop and take it all in. One of my favorite ways to unwind is by driving around my local area, especially while my daughter is at gymnastics. On one of these drives, I ended up on Lawrence Street T-Head in downtown Corpus Christi, and let me tell you, it’s a hidden gem for photos.
If you’re into coastal views and city skylines, Lawrence Street is where it’s at. You get these awesome, sweeping views of the bay, the downtown skyline, and all the yachts lined up in the harbor. It’s a sweet spot for grabbing some amazing photos, especially if you’re into mixing city vibes with a relaxed waterfront feel. Whether it’s early morning or during golden hour, the light hits just right, making for some killer shots.
Plus, the area’s got some history to it. You’re a short drive away from Heritage Park with its cool old homes, perfect if you want to add some historic flair to your shots. The Marina Arts District is also nearby if you want a more modern, artsy backdrop. And if you’re shooting at night, don’t miss the Harbor Bridge all lit up—it’s basically asking to be photographed.
So, if you’re in Corpus Christi and looking for a chill spot to snap some photos, definitely swing by Lawrence Street. It’s a small area, but it’s packed with some great photo ops that will surprise you!
